The Australian Unimog Expeditions Mercedes Benz Crew cab U5000 Unimog is the first of its kind in Australia. Purchased by Australian Unimog Expedtions in 2007 the Unimog was selected because of its superiority in extreme off-road conditions as well as its outstanding on-road performance. The U5000 unimog is the top of the line model in the current series of Unimogs and the Australian Unimog Expeditions’ Unimog has had further upgrades to the driveline and carrying capacity enabling our Unimog to move a combined vehicle mass of up to 32 t in off-road situations.

The Australian Unimog Expeditions U1700L Unimog is ex-New Zealand Army.
It nicely complements our U5000 Unimog. As a single cab it has a bigger deck to carry bigger loads. The Pantech body complete with 1.5 t tailgate lifter will be modified to fit on this truck. This truck is heavy duty and comes complete with rollover protection.

Expedition Body

We are currently in the process of building an expedition body for our Unimog to make it truly the ultimate expedition vehicle. The Australian Unimog Expeditions twin cab Unimog is already fitted with on board satellite navigation and mapping and satellite communication and HF radio. The aim is once this expedition body is complete the Unimog will be able to be set up as a field office and communication base. The expedition body will have accommodation for four with on board shower and toilet, kitchen and dining facilities. It will have up to 400 L of water on board with a two four stage UV water purification system which means we will be able to obtain water from just about anywhere we can find it.
